Michelin came out on top in three of four categories in J.D. Power’s 2013 U.S. Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study.
The brand scored the best customer satisfaction ratings out of 1,000 available points in the luxury segment (775), the performance segment (751) and the passenger car segment (729). The truck and utility tire category was the only place where Italian tire maker Pirelli scored 737, which was two points better than Michelin’s score.
Other notable information from the study included that customers with run-flat tires are twice as likely to have to replace them as owners with standard tires. The number of problems with original equipment tires also declined for the fourth year in a row while customer satisfaction with those tires was unchanged compared to 2012.
