Winter is something the Finns do well. Apparently, they also do it fast.
Finnish tire company Nokian Tyres has just bettered its own world record top speed for driving on ice, raising the bar to an insane 208.602 mph (337.713 km/h).

The test achieved using an Audi RS6 equipped with the brand’s new Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 studded tires (measuring 255/35/20). Driven by professional tire tester Janne “Iceman” Laitinen, the new World Record was achieved on March 9th on a 7.5 mile track created on ice in the Gulf of Bothnia near the city of Oulu – which is also famous for its annual air guitar world championships.
Certified by the Guinness World Record organization, the official speed is the average of two runs of 1 km each (measured in both directions), with the car’s actual top speed hitting 211.27 mph!
